They just hope we customers will not bother them about it. I don't believe they are working on it at the moment. I lodged a complaint with MazdaConnect, who handles customer service, and they said the more people that complain the more likely it will be they will put some effort into fixing it. I like the system on-board overall but the lack of real time traffic when re-routing could make a huge different in trip time, is a great loss. Sure, I can use my phone but the display is small and that makes it distracting. This is not a technical problem, it is a business problem where Mazda, in changing systems, simply failed. The system is obviously built to support it but the data is unavailable. Regarding real time traffic overlays, or rather their lack, I confirm what others have said. I urge anyone on this thread to contact Customer Service and demand they fix this problem. So I think this is not just a "missing feature" but a safety issue. I can use my phone for real time but then I'm either not using the quite useful nav system on-board or I'm navigating via phone instead which is more dangerous and distracting and has a much smaller screen. This is pretty outrageous since they advertised the vehicle had the feature. They just don't want to do it as they change vendors for the stuff they installed and don't want to continue their business connection. It is certainly the case that this is not a "can't be done" issue. I called Mazda Customer Service and all they could say was if enough owners register a complaint (by calling them and demanding it be provided) then they might do something about it. It never occurred to me when I bought it that it would be unavailable. One of the reasons I got the car was my experience driving a 2013 for a few months and it did have this feature. I too discovered, too late, that the current crop of Mazdas (I have a 2015 Mazda3) cannot get real time traffic. I have looked at the TomTom site could not find anything. They indicated that I need to subscribe tomtom for live traffic updates. User Comments: Hello The dealer has upgraded the Mazda Connect to version 55.
